Weather forecast suggests light drizzle for the day. A washout possible?
The rain dance once again works it's magic for the gardeners.

Twitter message from Glos Cricket 40 minutes ago saying 'The rain has stopped at the County Ground and the forecast is clearer for the afternoon. Hopeful for play!' I'm in Hampshire so don't know how accurate that is!

It stopped raining in the Horfield area at 12.30. Rainfall 4.2mm (1/6th of an inch) in a four hour period of drizzle. The pavements are beginning to dry and the cloud level rising. My guess is there could be a start if not on time then after an "inspection". Save this weather site for up to date reports www.martynhicks.co.uk/weather/data.php?page=graphs

Well done to the groundstaff and the 'drainage system' so play got under way. Spolit by communication silence for too long - announcers please note; a lot of the crowd were cricket watcher novices and were mystified by the delay! Game progressed as thought - rather like using a wet rolled up newspaper to fend off a great white!
