This young Dent lad looks handy in the shortest form of the game. Where have we been hiding him?

This young Dent lad looks handy in the shortest form of the game. Where have we been hiding him? Not sure if there is an element of sarcasm in that post. The 'young' Dent is not far short of 30 and made his GCCC debut in 2010. He has been the GCCC captain for a number of years. Admittedly he couldn't get a place in the T20 team since 2016, mainly due to the presence of the overseas players. Interesting to note that the richer counties such as Somerset etc have managed to get overseas players involved in this year's truncated season. Good on Glos for protecting the finances and sticking with home talent.

Hehe apologies Graham I was indeed being a bit sarcastic, just very chuffed to see Dent making such a succesful return to the format!
Agree it's good to see us trusting to our squad rather than seeking short term supplementation, mind you our red ball top order would certainly benefit from Pujara right now! If this truncated season has proven anything it's that we will need a stronger batting line up against D1 attacks! Looking at our batting options:
Dent - Fine Charlesworth/Hammond/Hankins - I don't think any are currently up to the standard required in D1 though they will be benefiting from the exposure this season and Charlesworth in particular definitely has the potential. GVB - He's stepped into the slot at first drop that Pujara would have occupied and done well to be fair. Bracey - I have faith he can step up. Lace - Jury is still out but I liked what I seen in D2 for Derbs and another with big potential. Higgins - Yep looks primed to step up. Scott - As it stands I'd say he's like a much less good Higgins but first team cricket should see him continue to improve.
Sadly I don't think we have anything like a D1 batting line up though with 2 overseas players allowed next season I beleive we may be able to plug the holes in between Dent, Bracey and Higgins. Unsure if GVB has a European passport or will be taking one of those overseas slots...
