A little off the pace tonight with both bat and ball. Not sure if having already qualified had any effect?
Sussex do have a formidable bowling attack and even though our score was perhaps 10/15 runs short, I thought that with Sussex missing Luke Wright, we might just have enough.
Jacob Lintott made his debut and pretty much outshone everyone with figures of 4 - 0 - 26 - 2 with an economy of 6.5
I knew very little about him and I guess if we had a proper website that covered second eleven games it might have not been such a surprise.
Tom Smith who has been one of our recent T20 stars seems to be out of favour.
If a home tie doesn't happen, how about away at Worcs??

Jake Lintott will be a mystery man for many supporters, despite being a second XI regular. This is probably because the main website's coverage of the second team is pathetic, which must be dispiriting for that team's seasoned pros and the up-and-coming young players. I wrote to the Chief Executive about this, but received neither acknowledgment nor response. Lintott has also turned up in squads with Hampshire, Somerset and Warwickshire. However, he is best-known to followers of Clevedon Cricket Club, where as captain, he is leading the team to the West of England Premier League title. Unlucky to be run out against Sussex, he is also a useful bat. At the age of 25 he could be in line for a county contract in 2019.

Yet another who knows little about Jake L. Unsurprisingly as the club website is unfit for purpose as is well known and documented. Match reports very late postings; information as to progress and matches with 2nd XI rarely appear; recent raffle numbers not on web site [do they keep the prizes or give out amongst themselves???]. Like many aspects of the current clubs priorities, members interests are low, if at all, on their agenda! Missed the recent evening debacle, but decided against queuing 30 mins for one of the 8 loos, endless interference from pint carrying attendees and munching overpriced high sugar and cholesterol offerings.
